Nature and Wildlife Conservation Committee

Nature and wildlife conservation committee is a team of likeminded youth who decided to work for the conservation of nature and wildlife.

Nature and Wildlife Conservation Committee is working on planting trees, build awareness about nature and wildlife conservation, man and animal conflict, endangered species and birds, forest fire and importance of the forest to the public, students, youths and forest attached villagers from past 15 years.

Along with this, NWCC is involved in “Night elephant protection camp” conducted by Bannerghatta forest department. More than 50 volunteers involved in this camp.

To be more effective and systematic in our service to nature and wildlife our committee has organized camps to create awareness to students in schools and colleges. With the aim of involving the students in the activity of conservation of wildlife continuously, our committee has instituted “Nature Club” in all schools and colleges.

From past 8 years, We are working with villages and publics to build awareness about snakebite. We have conducted street plays about snakebite precautions and clinical awareness of people.

Along with this, NWCC is working very effectively and impactfully on Forest fire issue through street plays to build wider awareness about reason and effect of a forest fire. There are more than 1000 street plays conducted in forest attached villages, schools and colleges. These street plays are recognised by State Forest Department and they supported NWCC to execute this street play across Karnataka. The impact of this street play encourages NWCC members to create a short movie called “Odala Uri” about a forest fire.

This short movie scripted and directed by NWCC team. Forest department has decided to demonstrate this short movie to schools and college students across the state. This short movie has been released to the public by Honourable Governor of Karnataka Shri.Vajubhai Vala in World environment day program.

On the occasion of  World Environment Day, NWCC is organising a program every year to honour and celebrate ground-level nature lovers, forest guards and volunteers to encourage them to be more effective.

Currently, NWCC is working on the basis of self-funding from NWCC team members. The main objective of NWCC is to expand conservation activities across state and also NWCC aiming to involve more youths, students and nature lovers to conservation activities. For all these things we need support from donors and funders.
